As a nonprofit, St. John’s Food for the Poor Program relies on the assistance of community volunteers.  If it were not for volunteers, there would be no St. John’s Food for the Poor Program.  Volunteering just a few hours help make a difference in the lives of hundreds of Worcester’s area neighbors who are experiencing hunger, poverty, and food insecurity.

How will our Youth Group be of service?  Each Saturday, St. John’s food pantry volunteers set up a makeshift supermarket for families in need.  As items are taken, restocking is necessary, and finally at the end of the morning we will help break down this space for the following Saturday.  

There is always a great deal of fun filling the boxes of food and passing out this much-needed food that will help feed a poor and hungry family.  *Annually, over 10,500 boxes of food are distributed to families in need.
