ST. VINCENT DE PAUL SOCIETY
“Founded in 1833 by six university students in Paris under the patronage of St. Vincent de Paul, today the Society includes almost 900,000 members spread among 46,000 confraternities in 130 countries of five continents.”
“The Society’s purpose is to provide direct aid to those who suffer, and to help individuals reduce and even eliminate the causes of their suffering, themselves. Society members use their own resources, sharing not only possessions but the valuable gift of their presence. (www.vincenter.org)”
ST. VINCENT DE PAUL -- BLACKSTONE
As part of a “collaborative ministry” and in the spirit of our diocesan “Parish Cluster Program”, St. Paul’s Parish works jointly with St. Theresa’s Parish of Blackstone, MA to serve the needs of the less fortunate of our town. Various services are provided such as: food, rent assistance, as well as prescription, electric, and gas assistance.
During the holiday seasons (Thanksgiving and Christmas), the society provides food baskets and turkeys to qualifying families. The St. Paul/St. Theresa Council of SVDP depends totally upon donations and fundraising to support its charitable efforts and works.
All donations are welcome. For further information, please contact: Mary: 508-344-1440 or Dan: 508-883-8684
